Planned Parenthood has been a trusted provider of reproductive health care, a dedicated educator both here and abroad, and a tireless advocate for reproductive health and rights for nearly 100 years. But with the formation of their Digital Product Lab, they are approaching their mission with a very modern emphasis on user-centered design and agile methodology.
These principles are central to the way we work, so it was with great enthusiasm that we partnered with them to design and build mobile applications to support their programs. And now we’re happy to introduce the first result of this partnership, Spot On — a period tracker and birth control app that allows users to track and predict their periods, understand their menstrual cycles, and manage their birth control.
Everybody wants to make informed decisions and take control of their sexual health.
Planned Parenthood’s research showed that people hate feeling unwell, which should surprise nobody, but they also hate not knowing why. Everybody wants information and insights about how menstrual cycles and birth control affect their bodies, so they can make informed decisions and take control of their sexual health.
Spot On allows users to monitor their birth control, as well as their periods, giving them a fuller picture of their reproductive health. Users can track their period, symptoms, moods, and activities, as well as a broad range of birth control methods, including pill, ring, patch, implant, shot, and IUD. The more users enter information, the smarter the app becomes, predicting cycles more accurately and providing relevant insights, reminders, and tips. Expert resources at Planned Parenthood provide further information about everything from cycles to periods to birth control methods.
Millions of people rely on Planned Parenthood for the information and care they need to stay healthy — we’re glad to help extend that reach to users on their mobile devices, wherever they are and whenever they need it. Spot On is constantly evolving with each new release. Version 2.1 includes customizable appointment reminders in Profile, Touch ID integration to keep your Spot On private, insights and fun facts specific to your birth control method of choice, a very fun sticker pack, and more.
